"One Size Does Not Fit All: Approaches To Quality Assurance in Online Education"

Every college strives to make their online education courses and programs the highest quality, but not every college takes the same approach. On January 20, 2022, we had the opportunity to hear from three colleges who are pursuing different paths to excellence in online education. These colleges are members of the Texas Quality Matters Consortium and are using a combination of professional development and course reviews to build and enhance quality online education at their institutions.

This session focused on the following subjects:

  • How to introduce new faculty to an institution’s quality assurance standards.
  • How to use course design reviews to enhance faculty skills.
  • How intentional course design can help an institution reach its goals.

"Building Quality Online Courses at Blinn College"

How can a rubric, professional development, and internal course reviews build an exemplary online program and prepare faculty to teach quality courses? In this webinar, held on September 9, 2020, we heard Linda Reed and Sally Hughes tell Blinn College’s story of preparing for accreditation, finding QM, and implementing best practices into course design. This review will provide ideas for all instructors as they build their online courses.
